New CD “China” released June 2017.
A complete album dedicated to the music of China with original compositions, transcriptions and arrangements of Chinese traditional songs. The album was recorded at Challow Park Studios, UK. Produced by Gerald Garcia, sound engineering by Oli Whitworth. Album photos: Nyusha Glenn.
Johannes completed a tour of 13 cites in China in June last year. During this trip that took him wide across the country he wrote a collection of musical compositions called “Five Chinese Impressions”. These pieces are published at Dobermann-Yppan in April. The next Moller China tour is planned for April-May 2016.
In September 2016 Johannes Möller will take on the position of head of classical guitar studies at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. Johannes is already involved with working with students at the conservatory since last year and looking forward to be involved more.
Johannes toured India from early December to 10th January. He performed in Pune (Pune Music Society), Kolkata (Calcutta Classical Guitar Festival) Delhi (ICCR), Derhadun (Virasat Festival), Jaipur, Kolkata (Live in Mehefil and India International Guitar Festival). During his stay in Kolkata a recording of his compositions performed together with Ariff Khan(tabla) and Soumyajyoti Gosh (bansuri), Aakash Saha and Theophilus Benjamin (guitars) was produced by Calcutta Classical Guitar Society.
Johannes CD project of recording the guitar duets by J. K. Mertz together with Laura Fraticelli has now been released on the Naxos label. As a part of the release the Möller-Fraticelli Duo toured in the USA (Texas, Louisiana, Alabama and Florida), Sweden and the Netherlands with great success. For more info about the CD click here.
